MARTIALLY MARKED REMINGTON MODEL 1858 NEW MODEL ARMY PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 44. SN 106702. Usual configuration with 8″ bbl, pinched blade front sight, case colored hammer, brass trigger guard and 2-piece walnut grips. The left grip has a crisp O.W. Ainsworth cartouche and there are small inspector’s initials on the various parts. CONDITION: Exceedingly fine, as new, probably unfired, retaining virtually all of its original glossy bright blue with flaked areas on the bbl that are turning to light patina. The hammer retains most of its original strong case colors. The trigger guard is a medium mustard patina. The grips are chipped on the right edge and have light battering on the bottom and a few other light nicks and scratches and retain most of their original oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-53473 JR866 (2,000-3,000)
