*W. W. GREENER FH-75 BOX LOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 68297. Cal. 12ga, 2-3/4″ Chambers. Dbl triggers. Automatic side safety. 28-1/4″ Dove-tailed steel bbls are marked “W.W.Greener. Maker. 40. Pall Mall. London. S. W. Works. St.Mary’s Square. Birmingham.” on concave game rib. Six triangles of scroll engraving on breech ends of bbls and rib extension. Bbl flats show Birmingham proofs for 2-1/2″ chambers, and are marked with Greener elephant trade mark, and SN “68297”. Bbls have been fitted with Briley thin wall chokes. The rose and scroll engraved box lock action has beautifully filed serpentine fences w/ “W. W. Greener” in a banner on both sides. The single beaded scroll engraved trigger guard has SN “68297” and “Grade. FH 75” engraved on the grip. The Greener side safety has “Safe” inlaid in gold. The well figured and striped straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2″ over a leather covered pad and features a vacant gold oval and inlaid horn diamonds as drop points. The borderless checkering appears to be 24 LPI. Splinter forend has a Deeley release, horn tip and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.730, right -.730. Wall thickness: left -.028, right -.033. Drop at heel:2″ , drop at comb:1-1/8″. Weight:6 lbs 10oz. Stitched black leather case has a vacant German silver plate on the top, red cloth interior, W. W. Greener label, and an E.Casciano label on upper left hand corner. Included in the case are 4 Briley tubes for .035, .040, .028, and .020 chokes (Skeet and .012 are installed in gun), and a tube wrench. PROVENANCE: Letter from W.W. Greener stating what the original chokes were. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 98% of good quality re-black. Bores are bright and shiny. Chambers have been lengthened. Action retains 60-70% orig case color. Trigger guard retains about 50% of its orig blue, and top lever about 80%. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish, w/ a few handling marks. Checkering slightly worn. Action is tight and on face. Ejectors are in time. Exterior of case is in good condition. One partition is broken out in interior, some cloth separation along the hinge. Label has some stains. Straps are okay, but the handle is broken. 4-35192 MGM9 (5,000-7,000)
