UNSIGNED (European, 18th/19th Century) DRINKING IN THE TAVERN. Unframed oil on canvas scene looking through an alcove in a tavern setting. A young man has been drinking and holds his blue rhine glass upside down showing the barmaid that he has finished his drink. He may be following the lead of his partner who is asleep at a table with cards. Appears to be unsigned. SIZE: 21-3/4″ x 16-3/4″. PROVENANCE: From a large Boston, MA area Estate. CONDITION: Relined, dirty with some loss of paint. In need of some restoration. 9-99335 (300-500)
