M. PIEPER SEVEN SHOT VOLLEY GUN. SN 424. Cal. 32 RF. 25-3/4″ Blued round multi-shot barrel has full length matted rib engraved “M. Pieper Liege” in rectangular unmatted portion toward rear. One standing, one folding leaf rear sight with silver lines is dovetailed through rib. Silver bead front is dovetailed through rib 1/2″ back from muzzle. Right side of bbl is stamped with SN. Left side has Belgian rifle proofs for 7 mm. Case hardened rolling block action has nicely filed side panels with small scroll engraved borders. Belgian proofs are on left side of action and breech block. When opening the action one finds a firing pin to fire all seven shots at once, and disk cartridge holder to load and eject all seven shots. Mainspring is extremely strong. Opening lever is checkered at back. SN is stamped on action tang. Relatively plain European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2″ over ribbed steel buttplate. Stock features horn grip cap and 20 LPI point pattern checkering with double line border. Full matching forend screws to lug on bottom of bbl, has sling eye installed on steel forend piece. SN is stamped in bbl channel. Drop at heel: Approx 2-1/8″, drop at comb: Approx 2-1/4″. Weight: 10 lbs. 7 oz, LOP 14-1/2″. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains nearly all of what appears to be its original blue. Sights retain most of their fire blue. Action has about 85% original case color, with some areas silvering and turning brown. Operating lever has about 50% color, browning at finger lever. Action tangs are fading to silver brown. Rolling block pin retainer has 50% fire blue. Stocks retain virtually all of an oil finish. Bores are very fine, but with some slight pitting. Exceptionally fine example of one of these unusual guns. 4-39776 MGM101 (4,000-6,000)
