*RARE CASED BROWNING SUPERLIGHT POINTER GRADE OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 587J83. Beautiful little round action Browning with 28″ bbls choked FULL/MOD with narrow matted ventilated rib, sgl bead, ejectors & gold plated sgl selective trigger. Receiver, trigger guard & forend iron are coin finished with receiver having outstanding large vignettes of a retriever with a duck in a marsh scene on left side, a bird dog with a pheasant in a field scene on right side, two quail on bottom & two pheasant on trigger bow. It is all surrounded by very well executed foliate arabesque patterns with about 80% coverage. Left side of receiver is engraver signed “R BAPTISTE” & right side is signed “D SEPTON”. Mounted with extremely beautiful tiger striped walnut with checkered semi-schnable forearm & straight stock with raised side panels, 14-1/4″ over a Browning black composition buttplate. NOTE, ADDENDA: The following papers go with another gun and this explains why configuration of bores do not match those in paperwork. The gun is correct as it should be. Accompanied by orig bill of sale from Jaqua’s dated “3-15-84” & another from Tommy Koessl dated “3-20-84″, both in the name of Robert Moore of Tecumseh, Michigan. Also accompanying is a letter from Browning to Mr. Robert D. Moore of Gaylord, Michigan dated Nov. 8, 1999 wherein they discuss charges for re-boring the bbls to SKEET/SKEET. There is no indication this work was ever done & current configuration of bores belying this letter. Accompanied by a dark brown rnd corner fleece lined Browning trunk case. Also accompanied by its orig 2-pc black cardboard, Styrofoam lined box with owner’s manual. Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1”. Unable to gage bore restrictions or wall thickness. Bore diameter: top – .382, bottom – .396. Weight: 6 lbs. 10.24 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new. Retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Checkering has no hand grease indicating almost no handling. Wood is sound with a very minor handling & storage nick or scratch. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bores.
