FABRIC FROM VON RICHTHOFEN’S FOKKER DR I TRIPLANE 425/17. A small swatch of fabric mounted on a photograph of a turnbuckle and a piece of chain, also from the wrecked plane. Legends describing the fabric and parts are hand-lettered and signed by E. C. Banks, No. 3 Sqdn, AFC, who salvaged the fabric and parts from the crash site. With the lot is a letter from Banks promising Carisella this small piece. Brian Sutcliffe Studios, Sydney, Australia took the photograph, Negative No. 1625. CONDITION: Fabric – fine. Photograph – minor 3/8” tear on lower edge. SIZE: Photograph – 6” x 8”. Fabric – 1-3/4” x 7/8”. From the Collection of the late P. J. Carisella. 4-53525 CW32 (2,000-2,500)
