LARGE KESTNER 143. The head is incised “Made in Germany K 1/2 14 1/2 143”. Usually found only in smaller sizes this exceptionally large example has very smooth bisque large blue glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, thick eyelashes, open mouth with two upper teeth and is on her original fully jointed wooden composition body which is stamped on the back of the body in red “Germany 5”. She is wearing what could be her original ash blond mohair wig over plaster pate a nicely remade white cotton lace dress in the 1910 style and a fancy silk and lace bonnet. SIZE: 25-1/2″ (65cm).
