*CHURCHILL REGAL XXV EJECTOR LIGHT GAME GUN WITH 2 SETS OF BARRELS AND ORIGINAL CASE. SN 23571. Cal. 12ga. Double triggers. Automatic safety. This fast handling light weight gun has two sets of 25″ bbls w/ Churchill ribs. Both sets of bbls are engraved “Churchill (Gunmakers) Ltd.” and “61, Pall Mall, St.James’s, London, England” on the left. Bbl flats on both guns have Birmingham proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers at 3-1/4 tons PSI and are engraved w/ SN “23571”. Matted ribs both have “XXV” in gold, the only difference being that one set also has a six pointed star inlaid in gold. This denotes the set of bbls w/ heavier chokes. The case hardened, scalloped back, box lock action is engraved w/ medium English rose and scroll and has “Churchill” in a scroll surrounded riband on both sides. The floor plate is engraved w/ “The Regal” and has about 50% coverage of scroll. The trigger guard has matching rose and scroll and has SN on grip. “Safe” is inlaid in gold on top tang. Lightly figured and streaked European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14″ over checkered wood butt, features vacant silver oval, drop points, and 18 LPI checkering w/ mullered borders. Anson release splinter forend has wood and checkering to match. BBL no. 1 (no star): Bore diameter: left -.726, right -.727. Bore restrictions: left -.023, right -.015. Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.026. Drop at heel: 1-7/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight:6 lbs 1.6oz. BBL no. 2 (with star): Bore diameter: left -.727, right -.726. Bore restrictions: left -.038, right -.022. Wall thickness: left -.029, right -.026. Drops and weight are the same as BBL 1. Green canvas CASE w/ stitched leather corners has a vacant brass plate screwed to lid. Interior lined w/ maroon cloth w/ leather and gilt Churchill label. Accessories include a 2-pc cleaning rod w/ mop and brush, Churchill London marked oil bottle, and snap caps. Two keys are also present. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain virtually all their orig blue w/ one or 2 very minor scratches from handling. Bores are bright and shiny w/ no visible imperfections. Action retains 98% orig case color w/ only the slightest rubbing through the lacquer on the edges and tips of fences and slight ejector wipe marks on breech face. Stocks retain most of their oil finish w/ few light handling marks. Checkering is sharp and clean. Bbl set no. 1 the action is tight and on face. Bbl set no. 2 with star is on face. Case is very fine w/ few scratches and rubs on leather. Interior partitions are good, tight. Cloth is good. Accessories are as new. 4-35532 MGM53 (7,000-10,000)
