TWO SHIRVAN RUGS, SOUTH CAUCASUS. Circa 1900. The first with rows of diamond medallions within stylized latticework on a blue-black field within multiple polychrome geometric borders. The second with three aligned diamond medallions, containing stars, with serrated edges, on a blue-black field with polychrome saz leaves and stylized animals within a brick border of saz leaves and palmettes. SIZE: The first 6′ x 4’1″. The second 6’2″ x 4′. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: Both with low pile and overall even wear. Otherwise good. 9-93642 (300-500)
