VERY RARE COLT REPEATING PISTOLS RELATED BROADSIDE. Original broadside 10-7/16″ x 16-11/16″, white paper, printed on one side, titled “COLT’S PATENT REPEATING PISTOLS, ARMY, NAVY, AND POCKET SIZES, MANUFACTURED AT HARTFORD, CONN.” It pictures a 2nd Model Dragoon with the advisement to “BEWARE OF COUNTERFEITS AND PATENT INFRINGEMENTS”. It extols the virtues of Colt revolvers on the bottom of the left page and the right page gives directions for loading and managing Colt pistols and also directions for cleaning and “TO TAKE THE LOCK TO PIECES” and also “TO PUT TOGETHER”. CONDITION: About good, completely intact with 1/8 folds and minor creases. The middle of the paper is stained and yellowed with some light soil, but completely legible. There is one small hole on the left page and a 4″ tear on the right page, none of which affect the printing. A very rare piece of Colt ephemera 4-53572 JR889 (1,500-2,500)
