Cal. 12ga. 29″ Dove-tailed steel bbls are engraved “JNO Rigby & Co. 43 Sackville St. London.” in tall Gothic script on the concave game rib w/ scroll engraved rising bite extension. Bbl flats are marked w/ London nitro proofs for 1-1/8oz shot for 2-1/2″ chambers. Water table is stamped w/ SN “10725”, (ca. 1901) has London view marks and the Rigby double R trademark. Action is engraved w/ nicely executed English scroll, and the fences have the stylized Rigby palm leaf engraved flutes. The dipped side locks are also scroll engraved and have the name “JNO Rigby & Co” engraved in Gothic script. Top tang has “Safe” inlaid in gold in front of the automatic safety button. The scroll engraved trigger guard has no. “17025” on the grip. The dark slightly figured English walnut buttstock measures 14-7/8″ over serrated wood butt w/ drop points and 20 LPI checkering w/ mullered borders. Forend has “Rigby’s Patent” lever release w/ checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.733, right -.735. Bore restrictions: left -.003, right -000. Wall thickness: left -.021, right -.018. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 6 lbs 7.4oz. CONDITION: Good as refinished. Bbls retain 98%+ re-black. Action is finished bright.
