*ENGRAVED WINCHESTER CLASSIC ALL-TERRAIN MODEL 70 FEATHERWEIGHT WITH BOX. SN G184341. Cal. 30-06, 22″ round, stainless steel bbl, made without sights, 3/8″ band engraved at muzzle, left side is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 70 30-06 SPRG. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A.” Right side “CLASSIC STAINLESS”. 2″ wedge of scroll engraving over chamber with inked background. Model 70 pre-64 style action marked on left side “WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK”. Profusely engraved with foliate scrolls with punch dot background, front left side with semi-circle with bull elk. Floor plate and trigger guard engraved with foliate scrolls, floor plate with oval and monster whitetail buck and trigger guard with bear’s head. Mounted with Leopold dual dovetail engraved rings and bases housing a Leopold Vari-X 3X9 compact scope with duplex. Consignor states that this engraving was done by Michael Gouse of Hamilton, Montana. Mounted with durable black composite stock with impressed featherweight-style checkering. Equipped with brown leather, padded Winchester sling. This all-terrain weather resistant model of stainless steel and composite stock was only offered in 96 and 97. This upgraded model comes with its orig box. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Gun appears new since custom engraved. Bbl retains its fine factory finish as well as the black composite stock with only a few minor handling marks.
