*BEAUTIFUL JOHN RIGBY (CA) DELUXE PINLESS SIDELOCK O/U SHOTGUN. SN 4013. Cal. 20 ga. 28″ bbls. Superbly crafted pinless sidelock action, probably Italian. Hand-filed vent rib w/single brass sighting bead, 2-3/4″ chambers. Screw-in Chokes. Single trigger and ejectors. Left side of bbl is marked in gold, “JOHN RIGBY & CO.” Receiver’s left sideplate is engraved in a Bulino style w/lab holding a rooster pheasant in its mouth in a meadow scene and signed, “MILANI L.?” Right sideplate is a black lab flushing a rooster pheasant in a meadow scene. Bottom of receiver inlaid w/gold is “J. RIGBY & CO.” Balance of receiver is engr w/bold floral scroll and flowers w/a shaded background. Right side of top lever is engr in gold w/the Rigby logo. Mounted w/an outstanding piece of honey gold dark-streaked Turkish walnut, dropper points, checkered rounded pistol grip, smooth uncheckered wood butt, checkered splinter forend w/engr metal tip release, ornamental engr escutcheons and engr forend iron. See Website for additional images. Bore diameter: top .625, bottom .625. Bore restrictions: top SC, bottom SC. Wall thickness: top .034, bottom .031. Drop at heel: 1-3/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/8″. Weight: 7 lbs. 1 oz. LOP 15-1/2. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Appears as new since manufacture. Bbl retains virtually all of its orig blue. Receiver is bright w/case colors in protected areas. Stock is sound w/sharp, crisp checkering, a few minor handling marks and retains virtually all of its fine hand-rubbed finish. Forend is sound w/fine crisp checkering and retains virtually all of its fine hand-rubbed finish.
