*WINCHESTER PRE-64 MODEL 70 BOLT ACTION RIFLE. SN 252188. Cal. 30-06. 24″ rnd bbl, integral stippled front ramp with silver bead sight and hood, flip up rear sight. Left side bbl is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN,CONN.U.S. OF AMERICA / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK-MODEL-70-30-06SPRG.” Rear left side of bbl and front of receiver have WP proof marks. Receiver is marked on left side “WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK” with serial number on forward right side. Bolt with solid handle and type 3 safety with matching serial number. Mounted with straight grain walnut, checkered pistol grip, Monte Carlo checkered steel buttplate, closed loop swivel 3″ from toe, forend with checkered side panels and closed loop sling swivel. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 97-98% orig blue with slight muzzle wear and a few minor nicks & scratches. Receiver retains most of its orig matt finish with some minor silvering at sharp edges and faint outline of scope bases. Bolt knob is starting to thin. Floorplate and trigger guard retain orig finish with slight wear on sharp edges and a few minor nicks & scratches. Stock is sound with good checkering, a few minor handling marks, retaining a thin coat of professionally added oil finish. Forend screw is a replacement.
