W & C. SCOTT HAMMER GUN. SN 9499. Cal. 10 Ga. 30″ 3-Stripe Damascus bbls are engraved “W & C. Scott & Son. Makers & Patentees. London.” on wide concave twist top rib. Case hardened top lever action has nicely filed fences. Lever has lighthouse logo, and is engraved “W & C Scott & Son Patent.” Action is engraved with 30% coverage scroll. Front action rebounding locks have serpentine hammers with decoratively filed heads and scroll engraving. Lockplates are engraved with scroll, hunting dogs, and game birds, as well as “W & C. Scott & Son”. Trigger guard has matching scroll, pheasant in central medallion on bow, and SN at grip. Nicely figured semi-pistol grip European walnut buttstock measures 14-3/8″ over coarsely checkered original horn buttplate. Stock features oval German silver crest plate on toe line, and 18 LPI flattop checkering, with line border. Matching splinter forend has Scott patented release lever. Bore diameter: left -.782, right -.781. Bore restrictions: left -.027, right -.030. Wall thickness: left -Approx .048, right -Approx .050. Drop at heel: 3-5/16″, drop at comb: 1-15/16″. Weight: 10 lbs. 1 oz, LOP 14-3/8″. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain 10-20% original Damascus pattern, but are mostly brown. Action and lockplates retain 20% muted case color, but are mostly gray brown. Stocks have most of their original oil finish, a bit dry, with numerous nicks and dings from handling and use. Action is tight. Bbls are on face.
