SPRINGFIELD SECOND ALLEN CONVERSION RIFLE WITH SLING. Cal. 50. NSN. 36-5/8” rnd bbl. Beveled lockplate dated 1864. Breechblock is dated 1866. Faint cartouche under varnish on left side of stock. Sling has faint maker’s and inspector marks but does not appear to have much age. CONDITION: Gray patina overall with some signs of cleaning. Stock has been repaired and refinished. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright but has moderate pitting in grooves. 4-58730 (1,000-2,000)
