*FINE HEILMANN CUSTOM WINCHESTER MODEL 70 BOLT ACTION RIFLE. SN 261264. Cal. 30-06. Beautiful custom rifle built on a pre-64 Model 70 barreled action with orig tapered 24″ feather weight bbl, custom sleeve ramp front sight with hood and custom 3-leaf (1-standing, 2-folding) rear sight. Top of bbl, just forward of rear sight, is engraved in script “Stephan R. Heilmann”. Receiver is mounted with Warne bases and has the orig Winchester name on left side. SN on right side of receiver ring is engraved. Bolt release is a custom checkered pad and the bolt body, rails & follower are polished bright. Mounted in a beautiful, highly figured, honey & chocolate French walnut stock with extensively checkered forestock & pistol grip that has an ebony forend tip and oval steel grip cap with trap. Butt stock has a straight comb with shadow cheekpiece and a solid red rubber pad. Stock is extra deep through the receiver area, probably to accommodate at least one extra round. Trigger guard & floorplate are custom blued steel with engraved screws and trigger guard floorplate release. Bottom of stock is mounted with a Kimber sling base and has a stalking sling base around the bbl. This is an extremely fine, well made custom rifle with outstanding wood to metal fit with great lines. Weight: 8 lbs. 3.84 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains about all of its fine custom finish to both metal & wood with only two or three small scratches in the finish by the bolt handle. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore.
