HOLLAND AND HOLLAND ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR WITH CASE. SN 17356. Cal.12ga. 2-3/4″ Chamber. Dbl triggers. 30″ Dove-tailed steel bbls are marked “Holland & Holland” on rt bbl, and “98, New Bond Street. London” on left. There is scroll engraving on the breech end of the concave game rib. Bbl flats show orig London proofs for 1-1/8 oz and a recent Birmingham re-proof for 70mm chambers at 850 BAR. SN “17356” appears on both bbls. The action is engraved with shaded open work scroll in typical Holland house style, and is marked “Royal Hammerless Ejector” on the bottom, and “Patent Ejector” on the top lever. “Safe” is inlaid in gold. The lock plates are marked “Holland & Holland” and the tumbler ends have gold band cocking indicators. Trigger guard is scroll engraved, and SN “17356” (approx. 1892) is engraved on the grip. The orig straight grip nicely figured Circassian walnut stock measures 14-3/4″ over leather covered pad and features drop points, 20 LPI checkering with mullered borders, and a gold oval with initials “BHL”. Orig splinter forend is well matched for wood and checkering. Bore diameter: left -.733, right -.732. Bore restrictions: left -.010, right -.005. Wall thickness: left -.023, right -.021. Drop at heel:2-3/8″ , drop at comb:1-1/2″ . Weight:6 lbs 15oz. Makers oak and leather case is marked on the exterior “B. Lambert Harris.” Interior green cloth with H & H label. Accessories include 2-pc wood cleaning rod, brass oil bottle w/ “BHL” engraved on top, pair of brass and composite H & H marked snap caps. Leather case w/ cleaning accessories; small set of spare extractors is included. CONDITION: Very fine as refinished. Bbls retain almost all of what consignor states to be a Johnson re-black w/ engraving picked up. Receiver retains almost all of what consignor states to be a St. Ledger rehardening, beginning to show slight silver on action beads, and left side of forend iron. Engraving is slightly washed. Trigger guard, top lever, and safety button show 98% of their re-black. Buttstock and forend show almost all of an oil refinish w/a few very minor handling marks. Forend is missing small (1/2″ x 1/8″) pc of wood on the right side near forend iron. Checkering has been re-cut. Leather covered pad shows some use, with some scuffs near heel and toe. Action is tight w/ just a glimmer of light showing along tops of bbls. Ejectors are in time. Case has been completely refurbished w/ new leather and interior. 4-35355 MGM6 (12,000-16,000)
