A CAMPANIAN BLACK FIGURE NECK AMPHORA. Late 15th Century B.C. The shoulder decorated with a band of four hippocamps, a downward turned lotus flower conjoined with two open palmettes on either side of the neck. SIZE: 9″ h x 6″ at widest. PROVENANCE: Purchased from Christies, London, Fine Private collection of Dr. & Mrs. Winfield Gibbs, Sunbury, PA. Antiquities 12/12/84, Lot 122. CONDITION: Small chips to base and lip, some minor imperfections. Very good. 9-92299 (400-700)
