*EARLY DAKOTA 76 CLASSIC GRADE BOLT ACTION RIFLE. SN 0070. Cal. .270WIN, 25″ bbl made without sights, marked on left side “270 WIN”. Classic bolt action marked center of left side “DAKOTA 76”. Topped with Leopold rings and bases housing a Leopold VX-111 2.5-8X36MM matte finish scope with duplex. The 76 action resembles Winchester’s pre-64 Model 70 with clover-leaf tang, 3-position safety, and controlled round feeding. Mounted with nicely figured walnut in classic rifle style. Forend with checkered side panels, checkered pistol grip with sculpted metal grip cap, straight comb with shadow-line cheek piece on left side, solid brown Pachmyer recoil pad, sling eyes, and 1-pc trigger guard with hinged floorplate. Gun is accompanied with Dakota 76 pamphlet, certificate of ownership signed by Don Allen, President and Pete Grisel, Vice President. Also a 1987 dated bill of sale pricing the gun at $2,025, a factory test target showing a 3 shot sub 1″ group with 270 130GR. Hornady ammo dated 10/15/87 and signed “Pete”. There is also a 1991 Dakota price list and order forms. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 98-99% of its orig factory matte blue. Receiver retains 98-99% of its orig factory matte blue. Trigger guard and floor plate are in similar condition with one tiny spot of faint surface oxidation. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, a couple minor handling marks and retains its orig finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore, as gun appears to have seen very little use. Scope is equally new, bright and clear. An early Dakota American-made classic rifle. 4-40907 BDT147 (3,000-5,000)
