COLT MODEL 1851 PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. SN 193174. Usual configuration with 7-1/2″ oct bbl, slightly altered cone brass front sight, 1-line “New-York U.S. America” address. It has brass grip frame with large trigger guard and 1-piece walnut grips. CONDITION: About fine, all matching including the wedge, the rammer lever is unnumbered. The bbl retains about 40-50% thin original blue mixed with light patina. The rammer pivot retains traces of thin case colors with the balance a light patina. The cylinder is a silver/brown patina and retains 50-60% Ormsby naval battle scene with scattered light pitting and one area of moderate pitting. The frame and hammer are a blue/gray patina. The trigger guard retains traces of original silver plating with the balance a mellow brass patina. The grips are sound and show light to moderate wear with an original filled spot on the right side and retain about 90% original varnish. The cylinder has most of all six safety pins. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with moderate pitting. 4-53451 JR850 (2,500-4,000)
