*SPLENDID GRIFFIN & HOWE WINCHESTER 52 SPORTER. SN 75550B. Cal. 22LR. 24″ tapered rnd bbl, banded front ramp with fine bead sight and hood, no provision for rear sight, top of bbl is marked “NOV2652-4 GRIFFIN & HOWE, INC. NEW YORK, N.Y.”. Left side of bbl is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK-MODEL 52-22L. RIFLE”. Receiver is marked on right front ring “WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK”, left side with serial number and WP proofmark. Receiver has been drilled & tapped with mounting blocks, side lever detachable rings housing Leupold M8-4X compact scope. Bolt handle has two panel checkering and bolt body has been jeweled. Trigger guard floorplate is unmarked and accompanied with 5-shot Winchester magazine with 1919 patent date. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, wrapover checkered pistol grip, sculpted metal grip cap, checkered steel buttplate, swivel stud 2″ from toe, shadow line left side cheekpiece, full multi-point checkered forend with diamond center, swivel stud and 90 degree ebony forend tip. Toe line has inlet for initial oval which is missing. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Gun appears basically new with its professionally custom finish. A couple tiny scratches on metal, few minor handling marks in wood with sharp checkering and retains virtually all of its fine custom oil finish. Mechanics are crisp with a nice shiny bore.
