SCARCE COLT 1ST MODEL DRAGOON POWDER FLASK. Fine, all brass flask, about 9” overall with a 1-3/8” spout. It is dbl sided with deep repoussed trophy of arms over crossed Patterson rifles and crossed Patterson revolvers. On the very bottom is a long riband embossed, “COLT’S PATENT”. Both sides are identical. The collar and spout are all brass with the collar secured with three small screws. The filler cap is marked “COLT’S PATENT” and the spout is spring-loaded. The lower edges of the flask have staples with triangular hanger rings. CONDITION: Very fine. Retains a medium dark brass patina with scattered spots of red-brown patina. All of the Repousse detail is sharp and clear with some light wear at the top of the flags and spear points. One small dent and a slightly open seam. 4-51557 JR730 (2,000-3,000)
