*SPECTACULAR CASED RIZZINI MODEL S782EMEL OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN 2-BARREL SET. Cal. 12 ga. SN 35673. Fabulous sporting gun with 28” & 30-3/4” bbls with vent ribs, sgl ivory beads, ejectors and sgl selective trigger. Bbls have interchangeable chokes with a total of eight Rhino chokes running from cyl to full. Each set of bbls is ported with ventilated side ribs and has maker’s name in gold on left side. They also have a gold wire inlay at bbl joints with a dbl gold wire inlay at breech ends. Both bbls are marked “WILLIAM LARKIN MOORE & CO” over top chamber. Mounted with spectacular exhibition quality marblecake, burl, circassian walnut with extensively checkered beavertail forearm and rnd knob, pistol grip stock, 14-1/4” over a checkered butt. Sideplates and receiver are wonderfully engraved by C. Crellini and signed on trigger plate. Sideplates are beautifully Bulino engraved with full plate vignettes consisting of two gold drumming ruffed grouse in an extremely detailed mountain scene on left side and three flying gold chukker in a mountain scene on right side. Bottom of receiver is equally special engraved with a partially nude gold nymph and three cherubs with bows & arrows in gold, all in a woodland glade. All vignettes are completely surrounded by spectacular, intertwined, foliate arabesque patterns and have maker’s name in a tiny ribbon on each side. Opening lever thumb pad is pierce filed and it, along with the top tang, triggerguard & forend iron are engraved to match. Accompanied by its orig Nizzoli, maroon felt lined, leather case compartmented for all the parts plus a pair of snap caps, a 3-pc brass & wood cleaning rod, a rnd nickeled oil bottle and cleaning tools. It also has its orig velvet sleeves for the three pieces plus orig shipping order, owner’s manual & warranty. It also has its orig green, padded travel cover. It is also accompanied by a copy of what is probably the orig order sheet from William Larkin Moore & Co. for this shotgun dated 5 Oct. 1999 listing a total cost of $17,475.00 Drop at heel: 1-1/2”, drop at comb: 1-3/8”. Weight: 7 lbs. 1.92 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus. The 30” bbls are matching numbered while the 28” bbls are numbered “1324”, but are absolutely identical in all respects. Overall retains about all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. It has been fired, but not extensively. The blue is crisp while the receiver, triggerguard & other appended metal have a fine coin finish. Wood is sound with a minor nick or two in its beautiful oil finish.
