*FINE GRIFFIN & HOWE BOLT ACTION VARMINT RIFLE. SN 2086. Cal. 220 Swift. Fine Griffin & Howe rifle built on a Mauser military action with 24″ tapered light weight bbl, typical Griffin & Howe sleeve ramp front sight, missing hood, and right side of receiver bridge mounted with a Lyman 48M receiver sight base, missing the slide. Left side of receiver is mounted with a Griffin & Howe dbl lever scope base with 1″ rings. Bolt body, rails & follower, along with extractor are nicely jeweled. Bolt knob is dbl teardrop checkered. The orig trigger guard & floorplate have been slightly modified with tapered trigger guard and checkered forward edge of floorplate with checkered trigger. Mounted in a very nicely figured, typically Griffin & Howe checkered 1-pc walnut stock with slim tapered forestock & grip with shadow cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, checkered Winchester style steel buttplate and Niedner smooth steel grip cap. Bottom of stock has an empty silver initial oval and a Griffin & Howe sling stud with stalking swivel base around bbl. Top of bbl is engraved “No. 2086 GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK”. Caliber marking is engraved over left side of chamber area. Weight: 7 lbs. 10.9 oz. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Overall retains virtually all of its fine Griffin & Howe custom finish to both metal & wood with strong dark blue & bright hand rubbed finish on stock. Bolt body & extractor are slightly scuffed.
