APULIAN RED FIGURE LEKANIS. Circa 4th Century B.C. From the late Amphorae Group, the two part piece having a lid with profile head of a female, hair tied in a sakkos on either side between open palmettes. SIZE: 5-3/4″ h x 8-1/2″ dia across handles. PROVENANCE: Private collection of Dr. & Mrs. Winfield Gibbs, Sunbury, PA. Purchased from Christies, London, Fine Antiquities 12/12/84, Lot 125. CONDITION: Generally very good.
