TWO KNIVES WITH SCRIMSHAW HANDLES. 1) Engraved with a whaling ship, the reverse engraved with a displayed eagle clutching a saber inscribed “OBED 1869”, mounted on a cylindrical stand. SIZE: 11-1/2”. 2) Engraved bone handle engraved with a sperm whale and “T.W. 1854”. Together with a handmade leather scabbard/pouch with brass anchor fasteners whetting stone and second attached pouch of twine. Antique with later scrimshaw work. SIZE: 12-1/2”. CONDITION: Overall good patina and color, rust and pitting to blades. Pouch overall good condition. 9-74659 SM (1,000-1,500)
