*CASED H.J. HUSSEY IMPERIAL EJECTOR DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 14134. Beautiful sidelock double with 28-1/4” steel bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL with smooth, concave, tapered rib, sgl ivory bead, dbl underbites, ejectors & dbl triggers. Mounted with very nicely figured, checkered English walnut with splinter forearm & straight hand stock, 14-1/4” over a half-checkered, hard rubber buttplate. Receiver & lockplates are beautifully engraved with fine English rose & scroll patterns, having about 90% coverage. Lockplates each have a large bouquet of flowers with other blossoms on bottom. Each lockplate has maker’s name “H.J. HUSSEY LTD” and gold line cocked indicators. Bottom is marked with the model. Accompanied by its orig red felt lined, oak & leather casing embossed in a panel on the lid “T.P. BROOKS” and it has orig maker’s label inside lid along with an instruction card. Compartmented in bottom for shotgun, a 2-pc brass & ebony cleaning rod, a pair of W. Cashmore brass snap caps, a rnd nickel oil bottle, a Tomlinson cleaner, a covered compartment with a rnd nickled parts bottle containing a pair of spare firing pins and cleaning tools. A large, uncovered compartment is empty. Bore diameter: left – .730, right – .730. Bore restrictions: left – .014, right – .002. Wall thickness: left – .025, right – .023. Drop at heel: 2-1/2”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. Weight: 6 lbs. 8.96 oz. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain 85-90% orig blue turning slightly plum, thin over forearm area with some light rust around muzzles. Lockplates retain most of their orig case colors, somewhat faded with receiver retaining about 80-85% faded orig case colors. Wood is sound with minor nicks & scratches and retains most of its orig oil finish showing light to moderate wear on stock with dark oil staining on forearm. Stock may have been cleaned a long time ago. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores. Case shows moderate to heavy wear with worn edges, nicks, dings & scratches and a broken strap on the handle. Interior is moderately faded & soiled with some mildew. Label is fine with light damage. Instruction card is yellowed & soiled. 4-31032 JR544 (7,500-12,500)
