ALLAN G. WYON (American, 1882-) EGYPTIAN NUDE. Outstanding bronze figure of a kneeling nude woman with arms and hands outstretched at side. She looks up and has a braided Egyptian type hairdo with hair band. She kneels on a stepped square base that is signed “Allan G. Wyon SC 1917”. Very little is known of Allan Wyon’s work with the exception of medals he did commemorating the events in the early part of the 20th Century. A female standing figure with laurel wreath by Wyon is at the Hinckley and District War Memorial, which he was commissioned and the unveiling was in 1922. SIZE: 21-3/4” h. Base is 13-1/4” x 11”.
