*SCARCE CASED WESTLEY RICHARDS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 3032. Dainty little dbl with 27-7/8” bbls choked FULL/FULL with smooth, tapered, concave rib, sgl bead, dbl lugs with extractor & dbl triggers. Mounted with extremely beautiful, highly figured French walnut with tiny black tipped, semi-schnable, checkered forearm and straight hand stock, 14-1/4” over a serrated horn buttplate. Receiver has light border decorations with maker’s name on each side. Accompanied by a Westley Richards authentication certificate identifying this shotgun as having been made in 1910 along with a photocopy of the ledger page for this shotgun identifying it with 28” Fluss Stahl bbls, both full choke, non-ejector and sold to “G.E.C. Healey, June 5, 1910” Also accompanied by its orig, green felt lined, canvas & leather casing with embossed leather panel on lid “MONTGOMERIE”, compartmented in bottom for shotgun, a square nickeled Westley Richards oil bottle with compartments containing a stuck shell extractor and a tiny turn screw. Also contains a 2-pc brass & wood cleaning rod and has the orig maker’s label inside lid. Unable to gauge bore diameter, bore restrictions or wall thickness. Drop at heel: 2-1/8”, drop at comb: 1-3/8”. Weight: 4 lbs. 8.96 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 97-98% of a fine restored rust blue with only faint, sharp edge wear. Receiver retains most of its bright restored case colors with brilliant niter blue thumb lever & triggerguard with satin blue floorplate. Wood is sound with very minor handling & storage marks and retains about all of a bright restored finish. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bores. Case is lightly soiled on exterior with some light mothing to the lining, but is completely sound & orig. Label is yellowed & oil stained. 4-31201 JR448 (12,500-17,500)
