COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. SN 41541. Early Civilian SAA with spurious Henry Nettleton inspection marks. Revolver has 7-1/2” bbl, bullseye ejector rod head and 1-pc walnut grips. Other added marks included cartouches on each side, the date “1878” on the left side and a small “U.S.” on the left side of the frame. The various small parts also have the “H.N.” inspector marks. CONDITION: Fine to very fine as refinished. All matching, including bbl and cylinder. Bbl retains traces of blue around the front sight and under the ejector rod housing with the balance a cleaned artificially aged light patina. Frame has traces of case coloring under artificial aging. Trigger guard and backstrap retain 5-10% blue, being a light gray patina. Screws are all fine and the cylinder has clean sharp chambers. Brilliant shiny bore. This revolver has had very little if any use. 4-49846 (2,000-4,000)
