MARTIALLY MARKED COLT SINGLE ACTION CAVALRY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. SN 35337. Standard issue cavalry model with 7-1/2” bbl, blue & case colored with 1-pc walnut grips. It has usual 1-line bbl address with hyphens at each end, bull’s eye ejector rod head, “US” marked frame with 3-line patent markings and “JTC” inspector marks on the bottom of the grip, bottom of the frame, cylinder and bottom of the bbl. The grips have clear “DAL” and “JTC” cartouches along with the date “1877”. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter identifying this revolver as delivered to U.S. Government Inspector at the Colt plant Feb. 13, 1877 in a shipment of 203 similar revolvers. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Completely restored finish to near factory specifications. The blue color is fine, the case colors appear authentic and the grips are crisp. This revolver had seen very little use before being restored. Mechanics are crisp and it has a bright shiny bore. 4-51230 JR1003 (6,000-10,000)
