*CASED PARKER DHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 238897. Built on a “OO” frame with 26″ Titanic steel bbls choked SKEET IN/SKEET OUT with tapered concave matted rib with dbl ivory beads, doll’s head extension, ejectors & Parker sgl selective trigger. Receiver has typical “D” grade engraving consisting of a pointer on left side, a setter on right side & four quail on bottom, all surrounded with about 75-80% coverage foliate arabesque patterns. Maker’s name is on bottom front of receiver. Mounted with very highly figured beautiful American walnut with checkered beavertail forearm & straight stock with checkered raised teardrop side panels, 13-3/4″ over a checkered skeleton buttplate. It has a silver initial plate on bottom engraved “S.G.” Accompanied by a Parker letter fully identifying this shotgun as found & indicating shipment Nov. 17, 1936 to C.V. Bracher at a cost of $235.12. Also accompanied by a brown leather, red velvet-lined, trunk case compartmented for the shotgun with its orig blue canvas & leather cover. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-3/4″. Bore restrictions: left – .008, right – .005. Unable to gage wall thickness. Bore diameter: left – .548, right – .548. Weight: 6 lbs. 1.28 oz. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Overall retains virtually all of a fine Del Grego style restored finish to both metal & wood. Bbls have several small spots of deep pitting near muzzle end & some thinning of blue, otherwise overall finish is excellent. Wood has one or two small handling & storage nicks & a small hairline on right side at receiver with a couple of other very fine hairlines back of top tang, otherwise wood is sound. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bores. Case is fine. 4-55497 JR198 (5,000-10,000)
