CASED COLT MODEL 2 ROOT REVOLVER.

CASED COLT MODEL 2 ROOT REVOLVER. Cal. 28. SN 1244. Blue finish with 3-1/2″ oct bbl, brass cone front sight, Hartford address with pointing hand motif, 5-shot unfluted cylinder and 1-piece walnut grips. Accompanied by an original Colt walnut casing, lined in red velvet, compartmented in the bottom for the revolver, a small plain flask, an iron 2-cavity mold with sprue cutter and a small brass cap tin. CONDITION: About good, the bbl retains 15-20% blue with the balance medium patina. The frame retains 60-70% blue mixed with light patina and a blue/gray back strap. The grips are sound with light to moderate wear and about 93-95% original varnish. The tip of the cylinder pin is broken, the cylinder pin retainer is frozen and either the hand spring or hand is broken as the cylinder will not rotate. The case has a filled knot area in the lid with a crack on that end. One end of the lid is missing, the lining is faded and soiled, but basically intact with wear around the front sight area. The flask is a dark patina with one large and two or three small dents. The mold retains about 75% original blue with fine cavities. 4-53484 JR874 (1,250-1,750)
