*SCARCE WEBLEY AND SCOTT MODEL 728 BOXLOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 728076. Cal. 28 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 25″ Dovetailed bbls are stamped “Made by Webley & Scott Ltd. Birmingham England.” on top of right bbl. and “Made for Harrington & Richardson Inc. U.S.A.” on left. Concave game rib has engraving at rear. Bottoms of bbls are engraved “1/4” and “3/4” referring to choke. Loop is stamped “Made in England”, and SN. Bbl flats have Birmingham nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Case hardened boxlock action has automatic safety and double triggers, and is scroll engraved at about 70% coverage. “Webley & Scott” is stamped on both sides. Blued top lever, floorplate, and trigger guard have matching scroll. SN is on tang of trigger guard. Streaked and lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-13/16″ over checkered wood butt, and features a vacant gold oval on toe line, nicely shaped drop points, and 18 LPI point pattern checkering with line border. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. SN is on iron. Bore diameter: left -.551, right -.550. Bore restrictions: left -.030, right -.007. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 5 lbs. 8 oz, LOP 14-13/16″. Dark green canvas case with brown leather trim is lined in maroon cloth, with Webley & Scott black leather label. Accessories include 2-pc wooden cleaning rod with brush and mop, square oil bottle, and pair of snap caps. CONDITION: Essentially as new. Only a few extremely light marks on buttstock. Canvas case has a few marks from handling. Interior and accessories are as new. As good an example of this very scarce little gun that you could find.
