*PARKER AHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 197129. Built on an “OO” frame with 28″ Acme Steel bbls choked IMP-CYL/IMP-CYL with tapered concave matted rib, dbl ivory beads, doll’s head extension, ejectors & gold plated Miller non-selective trigger. Receiver is beautifully full coverage engraved with small vignettes of two setters on left side, two pointers on right side & three quail on bottom, all surrounded by about 90% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns. Fences have a sgl raised rib around back edges. All appended parts are engraved to match. Water table has lightning cuts. Mounted with replacement orig Parker, very nicely figured, French walnut with a long checkered & carved beavertail forearm with straight stock that has raised carved fleur-de-lis side panels, 14-3/8″ over an engraved checkered & carved skeleton buttplate. It has a blank initial plate on bottom. Trigger guard & stock are numbered to an A1 Special serial number 241000. Accompanied by a Parker letter identifying this shotgun as having been shipped April 18, 1922 with 28″ Acme Steel bbls & with a capped pistol grip stock. Also accompanied by a Galazan style brown leather maroon felt lined trunk case compartmented for all parts plus a pair of snap caps & a square oil bottle. Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Bore restrictions: left – .017, right – .016. Unable to gage wall thickness. Bore diameter: left – .545, right – .546. Weight: 6 lbs. 7.36 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 96-97% strong professionally restored rust blue with light muzzle edge wear. Receiver retains 60-70% orig case colors, strong & bright in sheltered areas, faded elsewhere & turning silver on front end. Trigger guard retains most of its restored blue. Forearm has small cracks on inside, otherwise wood is sound with minor handling marks & retains most of its fine professionally restored finish.
