EDMUND DARCH LEWIS (American, 1835-1910) “COTTAGES ON THE LAKE”. Oil on canvas landscape scene shows calm water with grass and dirt banks having cows in pasture and shallow water with large barns, village with steeple. The right shoreline leads to close mountains. All under cloud and blue sky with flock of birds. Signed lower left and dated “1877”. Back having a Kennedy Galleries label with title, artist, etc. Housed in a gilt wood replacement frame.
