*MILLER AND VAL. GREISS TOP LEVER HAMMER OVER UNDER COMBO. SN 33615. Cal. 32ga./ 22 Hornet. Rebounding hammers. Double triggers (Front set). 25” Barrels w/ raised, matted top rib w/ dovetail extension has one standing, 1 folding rear, and longitudinally dovetailed silver bead front sights. Bbl bolsters are engraved “Miller & Val. Greiss” on left and “Munchen” on right. Both bbls are stamped “Gussstahl Krupp Essen”. Bbl flats have German proofs for 32 bore. Rifle bbl is stamped w/ SN “33615”, nitro proofs, “5.3mm” and “35” and date stamp of “9/26.” Breech area is stamped “5/6 X 35 ½” and w/ FWK logo (F. W. Kessler). Bottom bbl has sling loops soldered on. Nicely filed case hardened action w/ sculptural fences and bolsters, has dual under lug and dolls head fasteners w/ Kessler’s logo on breech face and line border engraving. Peninsula back action side locks have line engraving. Plain European walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 14” over a decoratively checkered steel trap butt plate w/ space for four shot shells under trap, and features right hand cheek piece, horn grip cap, 26 LPI checkering w/ double line borders, and acanthus engraved cartridge trap on toe line for 5 hornet cartridges. Drop at heel: 2-3/8”. Drop at comb: 1-1/4”. Weight: 6 lbs. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain most of orig black w/ some scattered pin prick pitting. Action retains 30% case color. Locks retain 50-60% color. Top lever has nearly all its original blue, silvered at tip. Stocks retain most of their finish w/ some oil rubbed in. Shotgun bore is bright and shiny, w/ some slight frosting toward muzzle. Rifle bore is excellent. Action is tight and bbls are on face. Locks are crisp.
