CASED COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Boxer. SN 37155. Nickel finish with 5-1/2” bbl, 1-line Pall Mall address with 3-line patent dates on the frame, bull’s eye ejector rod head, and 1-pc walnut grips. It has tiny British proofs on the bbl and over each chamber of the cylinder. It is accompanied by an original Colt’s London Agency oak English casing, green felt lined with maker’s label in the lid. It has a cartridge board for 28 cartridges, a covered compartment in the right corner, an original iron wiping rod, an “L” shaped screwdriver and a Dixon metal oil bottle. The lid has the usual small round metal inlay. CONDITION: Revolver is extremely fine, having been fired very little, if at all, with the bbl, cylinder & frame retaining most of their original strong nickel plating. Back strap and front strap retain about 50% nickel plating mixed with gray patina. Trigger guard and trigger guard base retain about 80% nickel finish. Grips have several deep gouges & bruises with smaller nicks & scratches and retains about 90% original varnish. All the frame screws retain most of their original niter blue. Cylinder pin screw & butt screw are thin blue. Bore is crisp with a spot or two but is bright & shiny. Case is fine with slightly warped lid and some loose dovetails in the corners, but basically sound and retains about 90% original varnish. 4-51502 JR994 (17,000-19,000)
