*BEAUTIFULLY UPGRADED CASED PARKER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 171507. Spectacular Runge engraved upgrade on an “OO” frame with 26″ bbls choked CYL/CYL with tapered concave matted rib, dbl ivory beads, and re-engraved “Peerless steel”. It has a doll’s head extension, ejectors & Parker sgl selective trigger. Engraved in Grade 7 (AAH) style with extremely fine foliate arabesque patterns in about 85% coverage. Floorplate has a beautifully detailed raised gold grouse & “PARKER BROS” is in raised gold at front end of receiver. Serial number is in raised gold on bottom tang. Trigger & selector lever are engraved & gold plated and “S” is in gold on top tang. Fences have two raised ribs around back edge. Mounted in very highly figured, marble cake, French walnut with fleur-de-lis carved & checkered beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock with raised checkered fleur-de-lis side panels, 14-1/4″ over an engraved skeleton buttplate with fleur-de-lis carved & checkered center. It has a gold initial plate on bottom inscribed “SG”. Engraving patterns extend 2-3/8″ over chamber end of bbls and 1-1/8″ from muzzles. Accompanied by a collection card for this shotgun stating that it was upgraded from a V Grade to Grade 7 “by Del Grego (sic) & Runge”. Also accompanied by a chocolate brown green, felt lined, leather, trunk case with Webley & Scott maker’s label in lid. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Bore restrictions: left – .006, right – .008. Wall thickness: left – .023, right – .027. Bore diameter: left – .558, right – .558. Weight: 5 lbs. 14.08 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Overall retains virtually all of its fine custom finish to both metal & wood. Del Grego restoration is outstanding. One or two minor mars in wood finish, otherwise wood is sound. Mechanics are crisp except the sgl trigger which, when it is in left bbl position, does not cycle to right bbl. Conversely when in right bbl position it will cycle to left bbl. Ejectors are fine.
