LOT OF TWO DBL BBL HAMMER SHOTGUNS. (1) Remington Model 1889. Cal. 10 ga. SN 101532. Usual configuration with 30″ Damascus bbls, marked on the top rib with maker’s name & address. It has undecorated receiver and lockplates with extractors, nicely figured walnut stock & forearm, hard rubber insert checkered splinter forearm and rnd knob stock cut to 13-3/4″ over a replacement buttplate. CONDITION: Good. Metal is all cleaned bright with the bbls retaining 60-70% light Damascus pattern. Wood is sound showing moderate to heavy wear with a fine hand patina on the forearm and the stock retains about 80% varnish. (2) Enders Royal Dbl. Cal. 12 ga. SN 25805. Probably Belgian made but not proofed with 30″ steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with tapered matted rib, single bead and rib extension. It has undecorated receiver and lockplates with only the maker’s name on the left lockplate. It is mounted in straight grain walnut wood with checkered splinter forearm and semi-pistol grip stock, 14-1/8″ over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain 50-60% orig blue under old crud and surface rust. Receiver & lockplates retain 60-70% strong case colors under a layer of old crud and light rust. Stock has a crack back of each lock and the wood retains about 95% orig varnish. Good mechanics, bright shiny bores. From the collection of the late Bruce McDowell. 4-54612, 4-54615 JR473 (400-700)
