LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY MODEL OF A “CAT BOAT”. This small hand made model of a “cat boat” found in Long Island features a receding center board and brass rudder. The deck scribed to simulate planking in what appears to be the original paint. “Cat boats” were working boats in the Chesapeake Bay and Long Island for men who worked in salt water. This one is titled “Gino”. SIZE: 34″ l. (including bow sprit) x 27″ h. to top of mast. CONDITION: Very good. 9-92358 (1,000-1,250)
