ARTHUR CLIFTON GOODWIN (American, 1864-1929) BOSTON FOUNTAIN. Large oil on canvas Boston street scene shows large three-tier fountain spraying water into tiered pools. Many pedestrians, some with colorful umbrellas. Leafless trees indicate springtime. Large five-story building on left side with round columns. Signed lower right “AC Goodwin”. This scene is across the street from Trinity Church looking down Huntington Ave. Housed in what appears to be its original carved wood wide frame with linen liner. SIZE: 24” x 30”. CONDITION: Surface dirt, one old patch to top edge with corresponding inpainting. Craquelure, otherwise very good. 9-98970 (6,000-8,000)
