*SPECTACULAR CASED MATCHED SET OF CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG. CO. WINCHESTER MODEL 21 PIGEON GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUNS. Cal. 16 ga. SN W38190 & W38191. Numbered “I” and “II” respectively. These beautiful shotguns are identical in every respect with 30” bbls choked FULL/MOD with raised, flat, matted, tapered, ventilated ribs, Bradley red ivory beads & their respective numbers in gold at breech end of ribs. They have ejectors & sgl selective triggers. Water tables, bbl flats, lugs, standing breeches & breech faces are beautifully jeweled. Mounted with extremely beautiful, feather crotch cut, American walnut with custom checkered beavertail forearms with black tip inserts & straight stocks, 14-1/4” over checkered butts. They have blank gold initial plates on bottom of stocks. They are identically engraved in 21-6 patterns consisting of a setter on left, a pointer on right & two pheasants on bottom, all surrounded with very well executed, deep foliate arabesque patterns. Engraving extends 2-3/4” up bbls. Triggerguards have a spaniel’s head. Opening lever pivots & tip of forend irons have gold inlaid “I” and “II” respectively. Top tangs have “SAFE” in gold & bottom of receivers have “PIGEON GRADE” in gold. Gun #I: Drop at heel: 2-1/2”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. Gun #II: Drop at heel: 2-1/4”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. Gun “I” weighs 7 lbs. 9.92 oz. and Gun “II” weighs 7 lbs. 8 oz. Accompanied by their orig, chocolate brown, leather covered, oak & leather, red felt lined, trunk case, compartmented in bottom for both shotguns. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, appear to be new & unfired retaining all of their orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Blue is strong & bright and wood finish crisp & fine. Both have been assembled with minor scrape marks on standing breeches but appear unfired. Case is equally new. 4-30536 JR342 (22,500-27,500)
