*F. J. BARTELS DRILLING AND SCOPE. SN 1475. Cal. 16 x 16 x 6.5×52. (25-35 Win.) 27” Barrels are engraved “Fried. Jac. Bartels” “Wiesbaden” on the right, and “Hofwaffenfabrikant” on the left. Claw bases and pop-up leaf rear sight are on matted quarter rib. Front bead is longitudinally dovetailed into rising front portion of rib. Bbl flats have German nitro proofs. Rifle bbl is marked w/ SN “1475” and “6.2mm / 52”. Lightly scroll engraved trigger plate action has dual under lugs, Greener cross bolt third fastener, pin cocking indicators, and Greener side safety w/ “S” inlaid in gold. Straight grip trigger guard has scroll engraving. Rifle selector button on top tang has “S” and “K” inlaid in gold. Bottom of action has “Fried. Jac. Bartels Hoffwaffenfabrikant Wiesbaden” in oval. Nicely mottled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4” over “white line” pad, and features right hand shadow line cheek piece, w/ 22 LPI checkering w/ line borders. Splinter forend has Deeley release and checkering to match buttstock. SCOPE: Weaver K 3 – C3 in custom claw mounts, made from Redfield rings. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain virtually all of re-black w/ engraving washed. Receiver is silver gray. Stock retains most of refinish, edges are rounded. Checkering has been re-cut. Shotgun bores are very good, bright and shiny. Strong rifle bore is dark in grooves. Action is tight, but slightly off face. SCOPE is good, optics are clear. 4-37254 MGM134 (2,500-3,500)
