*STOEGER DRILLING IN HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION. SN 43221. Cal. 16 x 16 x 30-30 Winchester. 23-5/8″ Barrels are stamped “Krupp steel” around breeches w/ full length matted rib, pop-up leaf rear and white bead front sights, engraved “A. F. Stoeger New York”. Bbl flats have German nitro proofs. Bottoms of bbls are stamped “Krupp Laufstahl”. Rifle bbl stamped w/ nitro proofs and caliber “.7.5mm x 52” w/ date code “936.” and SN “43221.” Case hardened trigger plate action has dual under lugs, Greener cross bolt third fastener, bushed strikers, and pin cocking indicators, Greener side safety and is stamped on breech face twice w/ “Suhl” logo. Trigger guard, top lever, and rifle selecting button are blued. Lightly streaked European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over checkered horn butt plate, has sling loop, horn grip cap, and 28 LPI checkering w/ double line borders. Splinter forend has Deeley release, and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.672, right -.670. Bore restrictions: left -.025, right -.012. Wall thickness: left -.025, right -.026. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 6 lbs 6oz. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain virtually all orig blue, w/ slight silvering at muzzles, a few marks from use. Action retains virtually all its orig case color and lacquer, w/ only slightest of silvering on beads and edges of fences. Stocks retain 95% orig varnish w/ few dings and compressions from use, and an area of checkering on left grip where number of diamonds are scuffed. Butt plate has a chip at toe.
