ROMAN BRONZE APPLIQUE BUST OF ATHENA. Circa 3rd Century A.D. The goddess with her centrally parted hair swept up beneath a Corinthian helmet with diademed front and surmounted by a high finely engraved crest, her face with engraved eyes and drilled pupils, and wearing a sleeveless chiton, scaled breast plate, and aegis with Gorgon’s head.
