*LUDWIG BOROVNIK DRILLING WITH SCHMIDT & BENDER SCOPE WITH CASE. SN 40.3294. Cal. 12 x 12 x 7×57. 25″ Barrels have claw bases, flip-up leaf rear and longitudinally dovetailed gold bead front sight on the full length matted rib, engraved “Ludwig Borovnik Ferlach – Made in Austria”. Bbl flats have Ferlach nitro proofs. Bottoms of bbls are stamped 12/70 and “Bohler. Blitz Stahl” Rifle bbl is stamped w/ SN “40.3294”, “7/57”, “Bohler Rasant” and also w/ proof # and date “3103.70.” Rifle extractor has detent for rimless cases. No provision for rimmed case. Coin finished scalloped back trigger plate action has dual under lugs, Greener cross bolt, and bushed strikers, pin cocking indicators, and is engraved w/ simple open scroll w/ running stag on left, running roebuck on right. Greener type side safety and push button rifle selector on top tang. Front trigger is set. Blued steel trigger guard has scroll engraving. Nicely marbled European walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over black “Decelerator” pad w/ sling loops, horn grip cap, shadow line right hand cheek piece, and 28 LPI checkering w/ double line borders. Full splinter forend has Deeley release and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.724, right -.725. Bore restrictions: left -.017, right -.010. Wall thickness: left -.022, right -.026. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs 15 oz. SCOPE: Schmidt & Bender 1.5-6 power variable w/ 3 post and cross hair reticle w/ claw mounts w/ windage adjustment. CASE: Double ended leather case has green cloth interior. Accessories include extra pair scope rings already fitted to gun, and 22 rim fire sub-caliber adapter. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 90% of orig blue, silvering at muzzles, and thinning, especially on right side near action. Action retains most all its coin finish, darkening in spots. Trigger guard, top lever, safety button are beginning to silver at edges. Stocks retain 90% orig oil finish w/ numerous nicks and scratches from use. Pad is new replacement. Bores are excellent, rifle bore showing some erosion at throat. Action is slightly loose, and off face. (Movement is felt w/ forend off, feels tight w/ forend installed.) SCOPE is excellent, optics are clear. CASE has numerous nicks and scrapes from use, closing straps have been replaced, handle repaired. Interior shows some moth damage.
