ARTHUR POPPER HORSE RACE GAMING WHEEL. Most likely manufactured by Evans and the name Arthur Popper inserted instead, this type of fanciful horse race gaming wheel from the 1930s-1940s was most popular and heavily used at carnivals of the time. It appears that the reverse-painted horse race scenes, which were always susceptible to breakage, have been replaced with ones of a similar nature a long time ago. The wheel itself is on a wooden pole with three intricately cast iron legs. SIZE: 6′ h. CONDITION: Overall good plus. 1-8731 (3,000-4,000)
