*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 2-BBL SKEET SET. Cal. 28 ga./20 ga. SN 12107. Fine skeet grade dbl with two sets of 28″ bbls. Both sets choked WS1/WS2 and both with ventilated ribs & dbl beads with red ivory Bradley front bead. Both have ejectors & it is fitted with sgl selective trigger. It has step side receiver without decoration & floorplate is marked “SKEET”. Fitted with highly figured center crotch cut American walnut with checkered beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock, 13-7/8″ over a solid red Winchester pad. Accompanied by an orig Winchester 2-pc cardboard box containing orig wax paper & cardboard sleeves. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter which only mentions 20 ga. bbls choked as noted with pistol grip & checkered butt “Made for: Ticket”. Orig measurements were 14″ LOP, 2-1/2″ drop at heel, 1-9/16″ drop at comb. Completed inspection Nov. 17, 1948. Drop at the heel: 2-1/2″, drop at the comb: 1-1/8″. Bore restrictions: 28 ga. left – .008, right – .005, 20 ga. left – .013, right – minus .014. Wall thickness: Unable to gage 28 ga.; 20 ga. left – .026, right – .027-.031. Bore diameter: 28 ga. left – .534, right – .547, 20 ga. left – .597, right – .638. Weight with 20 ga. bbls: 6 lbs. 14.08 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Retains virtually all of a fine professionally restored (probably factory) finish to both metal & wood. 28 ga. bbls appear to be a later addition & are probably not restored. 20 ga. bbls appear to be a restoration. Mechanics are crisp with bright shiny bores. Box shows moderate to heavy wear & soil with about 30% of label missing. 4-55545 JR23 (7,000-10,000)
